Hetfield Joins Sweet Savage On Stage In DublinPosted by: admin in Appearances, James, VideoMETALLICA frontman James Hetfield joined reactivated NWOBHM legends SWEET SAVAGE (based in Belfast, Northern Ireland) on stage at their August 20, 2008 concert at Marlay Park in Dublin, Ireland (where they supported METALLICA) for a rendition of the SWEET SAVAGE classic “Killing Time”. To celebrate the release of their new album “Death Magnetic” in September (actual date still tbc) the band thought it would be cool to hang with a few of their closest friends in some of their favourite cities. On September 12th in Berlin, Germany and on September 15th in London, England they will be hosting a little bash to celebrate the blessed event of the upcoming addition to the Metallica family/catalogue. There will be a live band (that would be them!) and tickets will only be available to MetClub members and Mission: Metallica members. The band headline the Leeds (August 22nd) and Reading (August 24th) festivals. Watch this space for more info! (more…)

Following months of rumors, Ozzfest organizers confirmed earlier this month through a post at the official web site that the festival, a touring event for more than a decade, will transform into a “destination festival” this summer. OZZY OSBOURNE and METALLICA will headline a one-day show on August 9 at Pizza Hut Park in Dallas. Also appearing on the main stage are SERJ TANKIAN, KORN singer Jonathan Davis, HELLYEAH, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, SHADOWS FALL, APOCALYPTICA, IN THIS MOMENT and what’s being billed as an “all-star tribute” to slain PANTERA and DAMAGEPLAN guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott.

Music fans who can’t trek to Tennessee for the Bonnaroo Music & Arts festival still have a chance to see the action: Fuse TV is televising parts of the three-day extravaganza, its first national TV exposure. Acts ranging from Kanye West to Metallica to Pearl Jam are slated to perform at Bonnaroo, the yearly event that is held on a farm in Manchester, TN. The event will also feature comedians including Chris Rock and Janeane Garofalo. Fuse plans to televise six hours of programming from the festival, ranging from performances to interviews with the artists. The network will also broadcast live from the event. “We couldn’t be more excited to be working with Fuse as our broadcast partner,” said Jonathan Mayers, Bonnaroo Co-founder, Superfly Productions, said in a statement Monday. 
Mission:Metallica has set up a booth to let people sign up for a chance to meet the band.
