New Metallica Album.com

Well it doesn’t really come in a box, but starting on April 14 our entire discography will be available on iTunes as a “digital box set” so that for one price, you can download the entire catalog. What exactly does “entire catalog mean?” you ask . . . that would be 163 tracks including all the studio albums from Kill ‘Em All up through Death Magnetic, S&M, Some Kind of Monster, the two tracks from Live From Live Earth, and “I Disappear” from the Mission Impossible 2 soundtrack. Our little set here also includes the live tracks that were released as part of the album versions on iTunes: “The Four Horsemen,” “Whiplash,” “For Whom The Bell Tolls,” “Creeping Death,” “Battery,” “The Thing That Should Not Be,” “One,” and “…And Justice For All.”

iTunes will be the only place you can find the digital box set starting April 14, with your friendly other sites that you can download music from coming on board April 28. metallica.com

“If you didn’t see them signed yourself, your Metallica autographs probably aren’t real,” says “Autograph” publisher Steven Cyrkin. Already one of the most forged bands of all time, with their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Metallica forgeries have hit an all-time high. On eBay, on fan and dealer Web sites, and in many of the fancy galleries in tourist spots, criminals are preying on Metallica’s unsuspecting fans. “You can find out if your Metallica autographs, or ones you’re thinking of buying, are suspect in a 10-page feature in the May issue of ‘Autograph’ magazine that traces the band’s autographs from 1982 to today,” says Cyrkin.

“The number of Metallica forgeries being offered rivals the number of forged Barack Obama autographs peddled after he was elected president,” continues Cyrkin. “It’s so bad that we asked the chief authenticator of the largest autograph authentication service, PSA/DNA, to write an article that shows how to identify genuine Metallica signatures.” (more…)

Artisan News Service caught up with vocalist Chuck Billy of thrash metal veterans TESTAMENT at the first-ever Epiphone Revolver Golden Gods Awards, which was held April 7 at Club Nokia in downtown Los Angeles, to get his thoughts on METALLICA’s recent induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and why it will open a lot of doors for future metal bands.

“I thought it was great,” Billy said. “It’s wonderful, and I think, like James (Hetfield) said, it’s wonderful that it could open a lot of doors for a lot more metal acts to get inducted there. So, I think it’s wonderful. Metal in America, it’s got some legs right now.” (more…)
