METALLICA’s ULRICH Downplays ‘Death Magnetic’ Leak: ‘It’s Part Of How It Is These Days’

METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich has commented on the premature release of the band’s new album, “Death Magnetic”, via a French record store. A shop in Paris reportedly sold a number of copies of the CD this morning well ahead of its official September 12 worldwide release date — with illegal “Death Magnetic” MP3 files making their way online by this afternoon.
During a guest appearance earlier today on “The Woody Show” on the San Francisco, California radio station Live 105 (KITS 105.3 FM), Ulrich stated about the French leak, “Listen, we’re ten days from release. I mean, from here, we’re golden. If this thing leaks all over the world today or tomorrow, happy days. Happy days. Trust me. Ten days out and it hasn’t quote-unquote fallen off the truck yet? Everybody’s happy. It’s 2008 and it’s part of how it is these days, so it’s fine. We’re happy.”

I already downloaded the whole thing and I pre-ordered it AND I’m buying a copy at 12:01 am September 12th just for the experience. I mean seriously, I’ve been waiting 5 long years for that moment to come, waiting outside the record store the night before. It’s gonna be something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

yeah me too! it`s an awesome album nothing like anything they`ve done before. I`ve got the cd pre ordered 3months ago. I`m glad Lar`s isn`t to pissed cause he`ll still get some of my money haha.

how about this? fuck lars and fuck what lars thinks. he has no choice in the matter now. i hope everyone downloads it and nobody buys it. they’re smart not to fight it. after all, it’s the technology, not the people running the websites. People downloaded Load and Reload and got sued. Over those two shitty albums. These guys should NIN this whole thing and hand it out for free. Like Metallica doesn’t have enough money without selling everyone a coffin box with all that crap inside it. Fucking fuck lars and fuck metallica. Napster revolutionized music, and metallica did nothing but speed up the process.

hey blasttyrant419 you sure don’t know shit about music, it sucks that the album got leaked because it took alway the experience of waiting and listening to the whole album front to back, the day it comes out. Also the coffn is a sweet deal, not many other bands would do things like that. We should all be happy metallica is still making sweet music because most of the music out there now is shit, with no feeling, atleast metallica makes music that comes from within, not from what is popular.
