I think if Metallica were to re record Kill Em All now a days, it would sound incredibly close to this song. this guy probably doesn’t like the faster shit. From the lyrics it’s clear to me James is being straight forward about a traffic accident where a body gets tossed and crushed, I’m pretty sure who he’s referring to. Brilliant Lyrics James!

The songs themselves on Death Magnetic are strong…very strong, from what we’ve heard so far. Definetly worth buying, however… I love the thrash of metallica of old, and the vocal presence of James in newer Metallica. Load and Re-load aren’t fast albums, but are vocally stronger than any of their other records (Vocals fantastic on Garage Inc as well). To incorporate the best would be to keep the energy they have on this record with polished vocals to REALLY make this album kick ass…. Rick Rubin got them playing like they were hungry again, but the singing isnt as strong as the later records..Hopefully the actual record will have harmonies and layered vocal tracks

He makes some valid points. I truly hope that the album itself is mixed better than what we are hearing. I as well, liked Load, and reload. In fact the only album that I truly don’t care to listen to is St. anger. But, I still recognize that St. Anger was really an expiremental album for all intents and purposes. I am still very excited for this album and I feel that what I have heard thus far has been a vast improvement from the last album.

Actually he is right. It sounds like crap compared to old Metallica and even the Load/Reload era. Iron Maiden has it right, Metallica does not. Rick Rubin is more a problem than a solution
