Following a rip-off claim on Irish metal forum www.metalireland.com, which then spread to other international forums, made today in response to the newest METALLICA ‘Fly On The Wall’ documentary clip reported by Blabbermouth ERA VULGARIS frontman Chris Rob has made the following statement through their MySpace to clarify the band’s position on the matter and dispel any rumours about legal action.
” …so Metallica just release a new clip from the ‘Fly On The Wall’ documentary thing with a very brief excerpt from the end of a song.
An excerpt which bears no small resemblance to the chorus to Brittle (about 45 seconds in to the song www. myspace. com/eravulgaris ) from our debut album What Stirs Within.
Now, without any context given in the song it’s kind of hard to know what to make of this.
Please let me point out that this is not us making this claim but it’s been getting around and it looks like a few hundred people dropped by today to check for themselves.
We are NOT considering any sort of action based on this tiny clip so please don’t tell anyone that we are. Nothing at all will be done until the entire song has been heard in full and on the remotest
chance that there is an undeniable resemblance we will consider our options.
All we are interested in right now is continuing our writing sessions for the second album and our rehearsals for our first upcoming English shows since the re-location to London in February.
A big thanks to our concerned fans all the same, it’s nice to know that you’ve got our backs
Regards,
Chris Rob
Era V.”
Era Vulgaris fans took to referring to the band as Era V. following last years’ courtship with controversy over Queens of the Stone Age releasing an album of the same name just months after Era Vulgaris’ debut album was released through Code7/Plastichead. It seems now that the band have adopted this abbreviation also now that they are back in the news drawing comparisons to an even bigger titan of the rock scene. source

As a guitar player, i was not impressed with the new album, or any since and justice for all. the sound is not tight like it used to be, plus lars’s snare sounded like a tin can on st. anger.its like there doing it now just because they have the name, metallica. like they arent even living up to it. When the fire is gone, when the aggression is gone, so is the music, i think metallicas fire burned out a long time ago.
