New Metallica Album.com

Here is some footage from the MissionMetallica.com page. Its the first taste of what we can expect from the site. It’s actually pretty damn cool to see the guys back at work and for the most part having fun. Lars talks to producer Rick Rubin about not using a click machine on a track ‘Hell and Back’ while recording the drums in a pretty funny clip. Though he is not totally happy with it, i think we can see that they are trying to be old school and really capture a raw live feel to the album, a big change from the cut and paste St. Anger. Not to mention the snippets we have been hearing, including the return of Krik’s solos, sound pretty awesome, not to mention James guitar sound. The hype is building and it seems like we will be getting a better if not good record from the band. As you can see in the video, new bassist Rob Trujillo seems to be having fun also and keeping it light. So there probably isn’t much of the hazing and pressure on him like Jason which probably reflects the new attitude for this record. I think he has a lot to offer in the way of musical input and rocking vibe which should translate into an improved product. Let’s see how this develops. Coming up next will be the first performance in Cali which should yield some reviews and hopefully footage of more complete new material.
